Dynamic Synovial Fibroblasts Are Modulated by NBCn1 as a Potential Target in Rheumatoid Arthritis
[Experimental & Molecular Medicine] Scientists suggested that inflammatory mediators in synovial fluid, including TNF-α, recruited sodium bicarbonate cotransporter n1 (NBCn1) to the plasma membrane of fibroblast-like synoviocytes to provide dynamic properties and that modulation of NBCn1 could be developed into a therapeutic strategy for rheumatoid arthritis.

Safety and Efficacy of Autologous, Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Phase I/IIa, Open-Label, Non-Randomized Pilot Trial
[Stem Cell Research & Therapy] The authors performed a Phase I/IIa non-randomized, open-label study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a single, intravenous infusion of autologous, adipose-derived MSCs over a period of 52 weeks, in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis.

Reciprocal Regulation of IL-33 Receptor–Mediated Inflammatory Response and Pulmonary Fibrosis by TRAF6 and USP38
[Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America] Usp38−/− mice were more susceptible to inflammatory damage and death and developed more serious pulmonary fibrosis after bleomycin treatment.

Local Inhibition of TGF-β1 Signaling Improves Th17/Treg Balance but Not Joint Pathology during Experimental Arthritis
[Scientific Reports] Murine splenocytes were differentiated into T helper 17 cells, and the effect of the TGF-βRI inhibitor SB-505124 was studied.
