UBE2T Promotes Radiation Resistance in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer via Inducing Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition and the Ubiquitination-Mediated FOXO1 Degradation
[Cancer Letters] Using bioinformatic analyses, researchers found that UBE2T was associated with survival, tumor size, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis. They used colony formation, EdU incorporation, scratch, transwell assays, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and western blot to assess the role of UBE2T in vitro and in vivo.

Soluble Vegfr3 Gene Therapy Suppresses Multi‐Organ Metastasis in a Mouse Mammary Cancer Model
[Cancer Science] Scientists showed that psVEGFR‐3 significantly diminished cell growth with and without added VEGF‐C in vitro, and significantly reduced primary tumor growth and tumor metastases to wide‐spectrum organs in vivo.

Emerging Routes to the Generation of Functional β-Cells for Diabetes Mellitus Cell Therapy
[Nature Reviews Endocrinology] Substantial advances have been made in producing mature β-cells from human pluripotent stem cells that respond appropriately to dynamic changes in glucose concentrations in vitro and rapidly function in vivo following transplantation in mice.

PD173074 Blocks G1/S Transition via CUL3-Mediated Ubiquitin Protease in HepG2 and Hep3B Cells
[PLoS One] Researchers found fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (FGFR4) was overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines HepG2 and Hep3B. They used PD173074, an FGFR4 inhibitor, to explore the role of FGFR4 and its underlying mechanism in these cell lines.

The Role of Bone Morphogenetic Protein Signaling in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
[Scientific Reports] Treatment with either of two bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) inhibitors reduced hepatic triglyceride content in diabetic mice. BMP inhibitor-induced decrease in hepatic triglyceride levels was associated with decreased mRNA encoding Dgat2, an enzyme integral to triglyceride synthesis.

Bone Regeneration Capacities of Alveolar Bone Mesenchymal Stem Cells Sheet in Rabbit Calvarial Bone Defect
[Journal of Tissue Engineering] Scientists compared the osteogenic differentiation and bone defect repairment characteristics of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells sheets derived from alveolar bone and iliac bone in vitro and in vivo.
