Leveraging single-cell transcriptomics across APOE variants in both sexes, multiplex flow cytometry and validation in two independent cohorts of APOE4 female carriers with Alzheimer’s disease, scientists identified a new subset of neutrophils interacting with microglia associated with cognitive impairment.
