Researchers showed that mouse hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) carrying the Dnmt3a^R878H/+ mutation had increased mitochondrial respiration compared with wild-type cells and were dependent on this metabolic reprogramming for their competitive advantage.
