Upon induction of Ecotropic viral integration site 1 (Evi1) expression, mice displayed anemia, thrombocytopenia, lymphopenia, and erythroid and megakaryocyte dysplasia with a significant expansion of committed myeloid progenitor cells, resembling human myelodysplastic syndrome/myeloproliferative neoplasm–like disease.
