Investigators confirmed that fibronectin type III domain protein 5 (FNDC5) promoted the survival of transplanted bone marrow MSCs in a rat cerebral infarction model. Bioinformatic analysis and verification experiments revealed the transcription factor, Sp1, to be a key mediator of autophagy regulation by FNDC5.
